Two Laval food establishments have received fines from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) since the beginning of 2023.

These total an amount of $3500.

Poissonnerie Sami, a fish shop located at 1550 Daniel-Johnson Boulevard, was fined the largest amounting to $2,000. This is due to a deficiency in storage or any other operation that would be likely to affect food hygiene.

For its part, the ChoNeslya Bar, located at 3725 Sainte-Rose Boulevard, was first fined $1,000 because it “held a heat-alterable product without cooling it without delay and without maintaining it constantly at an internal and ambient temperature not exceeding 4°C until its delivery to the consumer”,  according to the MAPAQ website.

A second offence was noted due to unclean premises, equipment and materials used in the preparation and storage of products. The cost this time was of $500.

Still, according to the MAPAQ website, the ChoNeslya Bar has ceased operations since it was fined a second time on March 6.
