The event, offered by Attraction BFLY, is on Île Jésus since June 24. The facilities is more specifically in the parking lot behind the Colossus movie theater.

Last summer, that activity had only been presented in Quebec’s region.

“After the great success we had with our ephemeral concept last summer, we’re really excited to duplicate the experience this year by settling on two sites very popular for families, thanks to the entertainment offer already in place,” explained Élie Couture, BFLY president and cofounder, via press release.

BFLY Laval notably offers to its visitors the chance to learn more about the life circle of butterflies with an interactive and sensory program, for a cost of less than $15 per person.

The circuit connects seven sunny domes, with four of them serving as a butterfly aviary. The other three are spaces for reception, the screening of a short animated film and the BFLY shop.

A refreshing food offer is also proposed. It is adapted to compensate for the tropical climate recreated inside the facilities necessary for the survival of the butterflies.

This attraction is inspired by the BFLY amusement centre, located in Quartier Dix30 in Brossard, as well as company’s children’s books. (N.P.)

Manager of the Parc, the Éco-Nature organization was thus given $86,842 to develop its offer of activities and its infrastructures.

That financial help from the government was given after the first call for projects under the Program for the Development of the Tourism Offer in regional parks, whose management has been entrusted to the Association of Regional Parks of Quebec.

A part of this amount will fund the addition of three new interactive self-guided tours on the river.

Other investments

Under component 3 of the 2020-2022 Regional Tourism Partnership Agreement, six tourism projects are sharing a total of $96,000.

The BFLY attractions will notably receive $21,000 to purchase portable domes, “with the goal of offering an exhibition on tropical butterflies and the magical world of BFLY”, is the written in the press release published by Tourisme Québec.

Mouvement Diapason will receive the same amount, which will contribute to the financing of a sound and light project in the Bois de l’Équerre. Here, we’re talking about a 1.2 km luminous trail for the Symbiose event and the Diapason Festival in fall 2023.

For its part, the Festival des bières will receive $20,000 in order to support its summer edition. The Crux Laval will be donated $15,000 to buy climbing equipment with the goal of developing an offer made for a family clientele.

The Groupe Hôtelier Grand Château will be able to set up a video wall at the entrance of the Sheraton Convention Centre of Saint-Hyacinthe, thanks to a funding of $15,000 that will, in part, spread information linked to events happening in the region.

Finally, the Centre d’interprétation de l’eau will receive $4000 in order to develop an online ticketing system integrated into its website. (S.ST-A./IJL)
