A new one-kilometre trail, adapted to universal accessibility standards and including a 32 linear meters section of footbridges on stilts, has been added to bois de l’Équerre, in Laval. Bois de l’Équerre now has 2.65 km of trails that can be used by everyone. Thanks to these wider paths made of stone dust, people with reduced mobility can more easily visit the rich ecological environment. That new trail is part of Greater Montreal’s green and blue network, and was made possible thanks to a financial support of $212,500 from the Montreal Metropolitan Community (MMC). “The development of the trail, adapted…
Canada’s economy has experienced one of the fastest recoveries following the COVID-19 pandemic among advanced economies. However, the country’s currently experiencing a severe labour shortage, which is creating uncertainty for Canadian businesses and workers. The Honorable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, presented Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan 2023–2025, which outlines immigration as a strategy aimed at helping companies find workers, and to attract qualified people in key sectors. Last year, Canada welcomed more than 405,000 newcomers – the most ever in a single year. The Government continues that ambition, by setting itself 465,000 permanent residents in 2023, 485,000…

Unfortunately, 30 collisions involving pedestrians, and 16 involving cyclists took place during this period. The interventions carried out by officers aimed, particularly, to raise the awareness of road users, in order to help secure the transport networks. The presence…

For the Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN), the measures announced today by the government to respond to the overcrowding of health and social services facilities are nothing new. The CSN calls for in-depth changes, in order to ensure the sustainability of the network. That includes 100 per cent public services. “Today’s announcements aren’t changing the main problems concerning labour shortage, Quebec’s delay in home support, the lack of hospital beds, the lack of places in CHSLDs, or the under -funding of some services,” said Caroline Senneville, president of the CSN. “To strengthen access to the most important, and ensure each…
