A call has been made to the administrators of educational establishments by the Centrale des syndicats du Québec (CSQ) and its Fédération du personnel de l’enseignement privé (FPEP-CSQ), in order to establish measures to lighten the workload of teachers at the start of the ongoing school year. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) presented the road network report for the Labour Day long weekend across the province. Five fatal collisions were recorded on Quebec’s roads and recreational tourism network between Sept. 2–5. Five people died, four of them on the road. Those deaths occurred despite numerous police operations across the country. SQ police officers offered an increased presence during this long weekend, especially when there was more traffic. William Robin, a 22-year-old Laval resident, was arrested at his home by the Service de police de Laval (SPL). The alleged facts allegedly took place on Aug. 23, in Canada’s federal capital. Robin is facing charges of attempted murder of a 23-year-old man from Ottawa. The defendant attacked the victim with a hammer and a knife. Results of a recent survey from the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) are showing that doctors are suffering from mental health issues, caused by the current crisis in health care. The 2021 National Physician Health Survey, conducted in November 2021, reports that the medical workforce is struggling with a weakened healthcare system, and many challenges created by the pandemic. Nearly half of respondents (48 per cent) tested positive for depression, a higher proportion than that of the 2017 CMA survey (33 per cent).
